Homeowners often assume that every charging problem means the charger is defective.
The complete charging system includes the home’s service, panel, breaker, circuit conductors, connections, charger and vehicle. A problem anywhere along that path can interrupt charging.
Loose connections may cause heat or intermittent faults. Improper circuit sizing may lead to repeated interruptions. A damaged breaker may not perform reliably. Load-management equipment may be configured incorrectly. The charger may also be reporting a condition originating from the vehicle.

Why Charging Problems Often Appear Overnight

The vehicle or charger app may provide useful information about when charging stopped and which fault was reported.
Save screenshots of error messages and note whether the problem happens every night, only during extreme temperatures or when other equipment is operating. Also note whether the charger was installed recently or worked properly for months before the issue began.
This information can help the electrician distinguish an installation problem from a charger or vehicle fault.
Do not remove covers or open the panel to investigate. The error history and operating pattern are safer and more useful than a homeowner attempting internal electrical testing.
